EasySYNC Ltd, a specialist in USB communications and instrumentation systems, has added a new member to its highly popular Stingray family of multi-function test equipment products, with improved performance and a greater breadth of features. The new DS60M10, which is part of its USB Instruments™ range, combines an oscilloscope, data logger, spectrum analyser, voltmeter and frequency meter in a single compact, lightweight and inexpensive product. With dual channel operation, it offers 10-/8-bit data streaming simultaneously on both channels. As it is USB-based, drawing 500 mA from a standard interface port, it does not need connection to any other power source.
The DS60M10’s oscilloscope supports speeds of 60 MHz, while its data logger has a sampling rate that reaches up to 1 kSamples/s. The analog inputs of the built-in voltmeter have a maximum range of ±50 VDC (35 VRMSAC). For measuring high voltages use of differential probes is recommended.
The instrument is housed in an enclosure (with rubberised mouldings) that has dimensions of just 116 mm x 30 mm x 100 mm and weighs only 0.41 kg (excluding cable). This means it is highly optimised for utilisation in the field. A compact carrying case is provided.
The oscilloscope and data logger functions of the DS60M10 are supported by the newly enhanced EasyScope III data acquisition/manipulation software which is available to download royalty free. This has two oscilloscope/data logging channels with FFT spectrum analysis capabilities on each channel. It is now, for the first time, suitable for use with MAC based operating systems as well as Windows.

EasySYNC Ltd, a specialist in USB communications and instrumentation systems, announces the release of its CAN-DP serial-to-CANbus converter modules. This new hardware offering enables engineers to quickly and simply add a CANbus port to their PC or embedded system by connection through a serial interconnect.
The dual in-line package (DIP) form factor utilised by the modules means they fit into standard 28-pin, 0.6-inch IC sockets, optimising them for inclusion in OEM designs or on prototyping boards to assist the development process. Each CAN-DP module supports operation through both RS232 and transistor-transistor logic (TTL) serial interfaces. They can deal with speeds of up to 1Mbit/s on both their serial and CANbus interfaces.
The integrated electronics used by these modules includes a PIC18F4680 8-bit microcontroller unit (MCU) with ECAN control function and 10-bit analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), plus a MCP2551 CANbus transceiver IC. The MCU runs firmware that converts the data from its serial/UART format to the CANbus protocol. The CANbus transceiver IC converts logic level signals from the PIC microcontroller’s CANbus interface into CANbus physical signals. A set of 3 LED emitters incorporated into the module provide a visual indication of the CANbus status.
Communication is executed via ASCII commands passed to the CANbus controller. The command set utilised is identical to the one employed by EasySYNC’s S1-A-7001 RS232-to-CANbus adapter, allowing current designs based on that unit to be upgraded without necessitating any change in the software.
The CAN-DP can be powered by a +6 VDC to +15 VDC supply voltage. The module is capable of supporting an operational temperature range of –40 ⁰C to +85 ⁰C and fits onto a compact 18.0 mm x 38.5 mm PCB in order to minimise required board space.
The pricing for the CAN-DP is $ 67.00 for single units and $57.00 each for 100 units.

Metal enclosure devices provide high performance serial connectivity in demanding industrial settings
EasySYNC Ltd, a specialist in USB communications and instrumentation systems, has introduced a new family of rugged, adapter modules. These products present a simple method for allowing legacy serial devices to interface with modern interconnect ports based on Universal Serial Interface (USB) technology.
The adapter products in this family are subdivided into three series. Those in the USB2-H-100X-M series are designed for interfacing with RS232 level I/Os and have the capacity to support maximum data rates of 1 Mbps for each port. While the adapters in the USB2-H-500X-M and USB2-H-600X-M series are for interfacing with RS485 and RS422 level I/Os respectively, both supporting data rates of up to 8 Mbps for each port.
Offered in single, dual, quad, 8 and 16 port configuration versions, each of the modules uses a standard USB-B device connector for attaching to an upstream host or hub port. All of them incorporate a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed bridge chip supplied by FTDI.
Each channel of the adapter modules in this family has an industry-standard DE-9P connector, with the single and dual port modules also incorporating 5 mm terminal block connectors per channel, as an alternative interface option. They are capable of supplying an output voltage of +5 VDC at currents levels of up to 80 mA on the 5 mm terminal block connectors or 30 mA on the DB9 connectors. Integrated transmitter and receiver LEDs provide a visual indication of data traffic passing through the modules.
These products are contained within metal enclosures allowing them to be utilized in harsh industrial environments. They have an operational temperature range that spans from -40 °C to +85 °C. All members of this family are fully compliant with both FCC Part 15 Subpart B and European EMC directive.

EasySYNC Ltd. launched today the OBD-M-DB9-ES cable accessory which supports a DB9 to OBD-II interface. The DB9 to OBD-II adapter cable is a simple adapter to allow the EasySYNC range of CANbus products to mate to OBD-II interface connectors commonly used in automotive diagnostics and industrial applications. The DB9 end plugs directly into the EasySYNC CANPlus modules or any CANbus adapter that conforms to the CAN-in-Automation (CiA) DS102-2 pin-out. The OBD-II end plugs directly into an automotive diagnostic port or industrial device. The OBD-M-DB9-F-ES cable is 900 mm in length.
